International Program Conference Simulation (IPCS) will conduct a simulation conference event on May, 15th 2012 on theme ‘United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)’ with the topic area on ‘Improving Education in Developing Nations’.
Frequently, the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) have been concentrating on education for all, emphasizing the world’s impact towards children of the future – especially in developing countries – to be well educated. Since 2000, led by UNESCO, the issue of education became one of the main pillars in the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). The topic is become importance to take because even a lot of programs, policies have been taken to increase the quality of people’s education, but still a huge number of people in many countries don’t have (good) education.
IPCS it self is a conference organized by undergraduate students from the International Program of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY), such as International Program of Governmental Studies (IGOV), International Program of International Relation (IPIREL) and others. IPCS consisted of four conference themes, Association of the South East Asian Nations (ASEAN), The United Nations (UN) Parliament of Australia, and Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC).
Aims of the event are to provide the space for international program students to feel the experience of how debating, arguing, laying down critical thinking, in a conference amongst selected applicants feels like. This is, too, to realize them of how – in a rate from one to ten – capable they are at pouring their insights. Moreover, IPCS can also be considered as one of the several steps for students to reach their future. This may refer to work for the United Nations, ASEAN, Parliament of Australia, or Organization of the Islamic Conference later.
